Several months before Erin's Earth-death,
she and a family member had jokingly made a pact that the one
who died first promised to come back and let everyone know if
there turned out to be a continuation of life after death, what
I now refer to as life after life. I need to stress that
this was not a concept that our family embraced prior to Erin's
making her transition but, as I have documented in From Erin
with Love, we have received confirmation of Erin's continuing
existence. She has kept her promise.
These after-death communications have come
in various forms such as: visitation dreams; signs coming from
nature in the form of a Swallowtail Butterfly; a sensing of her
presence, as an example--a similar happening, experienced in
the same way at the same time by both my husband and myself and
not mentioned by either of us for several weeks after; synchronicities,
(meaningful coincidences); directly through well-known psychic
medium George Anderson, whose entire read with my husband and
myself has been transcribed in From Erin with Love; and through
direct communication with me in the form of automatic writing.
Erin
has retained her same zany, forceful personality, her memory
of events in her Earthly existence and her deep and continuing
love of family and friends. She continues to make her presence
known, not only to those who know and love her, but also to many
who have read From Erin with Love.
This topic is a difficult subject to share
with others because it isn't considered the norm in our society
here in the United States. In many other parts of the world it
isn't considered unusual at all, I have read and been told that
it is just an ongoing part of life.
No one wants to be thought of as different,
thus many people keep these experiences entirely to themselves
because they are frightened of the reaction they will get from
others if they mention what they have experienced. In my travels
to promote the book, I am in contact with many who have also
had this type of after-death communication, and these people
are very eager to tell me their stories because they know I understand.
Many of them have not shared their experience with anyone prior
to meeting me.
It is time that this topic is an accepted
one and freely discussed; it is time to move forward in our thinking.
The following excerpt from an article called "Vatican Spokesman" published by the
London Observer Service, written by John Hooper, is an
example that perhaps this moving forward is beginning to happen.
ROME - The Rev. Gino Concetti, chief theological
commentator the Vatican newspaper, L'Osservatore Romano...
"Communication is possible between
those who live on this earth and those who live in a state of
eternal repose...It may even be that God lets our loved ones
send us messages to guide us at certain moments in our life."
Concetti suggested dead relative could
be responsible for prompting impulses and triggering inspiration
- and even for "sensory manifestations," such as appearances
in dreams.
